Comment:
Spirometra erinacei eggs - light brown, 55 - 76 x 30 - 43 microns tapering at both ends one of which has a relatively large operculum - In saline preparation of a faecal sample from a cat. This tapeworm is an intestinal parasite of cats and dogs, the definitive hosts. The first intermediate host is the cyclops, second intermediate hosts are birds, reptiles and occasionally humans.
